Syphilis Worksheet
Widespread endemic illnesses from the past have had a profound impact on vast numbers of our ancestors, and this has carried forwards into current generations. Syphilis is the mother and father of all infectious diseases and affects all of us to some extent. Four to five centuries ago it was an incurable disease that spread throughout the whole human race (including destroying armies where ‘prostitutes’ were part of the war machine). The releasing of any residual limiting effects of this infection will allow its beneficial transformative influence of creative energy for living to emerge in our lives.
The long term effects of syphilis that can be seen today include:
- tendencies towards cancer,
- fear of insanity (‘Am I going mad?’),
- excessive fear of disease and infection,
- disturbance to sexuality,
- destructiveness and self-destructive behaviours like alcoholism and drug addictions,
- excessively egotism, lack of connection to others and lack of responsibility for the impact of one’s behaviour on others.
- compulsive behaviours (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, excessive personal hygiene, hand washing, use of disinfectants, deodorants etc)
The positive aspect of this compulsive trait is a dedication and purposefulness that can help people to excel in their field, for example in sports.
Exercises:
- As you use this resonance you may find it helpful to reflect on any patterns of behaviour you have that are harmful to yourself or others, and what triggers this behaviour. What could you do differently, or what do you sometimes do that is more helpful in this situation? Experiment with doing more of this.
- What would you like to be better at in your life? Identify one small, specific step you could take to develop this skill and decide when and how to do this.
